About
A leading executive search firm that specializes in placing top technology and engineering leadership talent. The firm combines deep industry expertise with data-driven insights to help companies hire the leaders who drive innovation and growth.
Challenge
Since 2023, one leading executive search firm has created an annual Future of Tech Leadership report—a large-scale survey of more than 1,000 technology leaders designed to serve as the firm’s flagship thought leadership asset. But the final reports weren’t delivering the results the team expected.
The Senior Director of Content and Copywriting described past reports as “a little meh and not in depth,” noting “there really wasn’t too much of an effort [by their research vendors] to find a story that would connect with our target audiences.” For the 2024 report edition, enthusiasm was so low that the marketing team ultimately decided not to send an internal email announcement.
As the firm prepared for the third edition, the marketing team knew the report needed a complete transformation. They wanted deeper analysis, a more strategic point of view, and a partner who could help uncover a meaningful story in the data instead of just delivering another generic survey report. Their search led them beyond the large, expensive consultancies they had tried before and toward a partner who could bring both rigor and narrative insight to their flagship thought leadership asset.
Solution
Their search for a better research partner led the firm to Redpoint Insights. From the outset, Redpoint helped the team rethink what the report should accomplish. Rather than defaulting to broad “AI trends” or generic leadership topics, the research direction was intentionally shaped around the firm’s niche: tech leadership capability, AI readiness, and the organizational conditions required for success. This strategic perspective was a key reason the marketing team chose to partner with Redpoint.
“Redpoint had a point of view, and took us farther than where we knew we could go. Where the big expensive consultancies just wanted to check the box, Redpoint made sure the research asked the right questions and the report delivered a deeper story.”

This early alignment ensured the report would stand apart from typical industry surveys and reflect what the executive search firm uniquely understands about placing top engineering and technology leaders.
Survey design built for real narrative depth
Redpoint designed a survey that went far beyond surface-level sentiment questions. Every element of the survey was built to support storytelling—capturing organizational readiness, leadership challenges, capability gaps, and the pressures shaping today’s technology organizations.
Instead of simply delivering raw data, Redpoint also synthesized the findings into a structured narrative with themes, patterns, and insights tailored to the firm’s content strategy and brand voice. This is also where the AI Organizational Readiness Score emerged—an idea that came directly from Redpoint’s analysis and added immediate value to both the report and the firm’s broader thought leadership platform.
“It wasn’t just the research… Redpoint put the care into the report and helped us find a deeper story that would connect with our audience.”

Collaboration, clarity, and end-to-end partnership
Beyond the quality of the research itself, the process felt dramatically different from prior years. The executive search firm described the experience as effortless—marked by clear communication and a consistent sense of what was happening next. Redpoint also managed complex back-end tasks, including the technical requirements for executing a large email survey, removing barriers that had created stress in previous years.
“It was just very easy to execute with Redpoint. The clumsiness we’d experienced before was gone, and the stress was absent.”

Results
This year’s 2025 Future of Tech Leadership report quickly became the firm’s strongest and most strategically valuable version yet—driving higher engagement, energizing internal teams, and creating a foundation for long-term thought leadership.
Significantly stronger engagement and reach
The new report outperformed previous years by a wide margin. Year over year, page views increased by 66%, and the number of individual users accessing the report grew by 189%. “People were interested in diving into it because it looked like there was genuinely something worth their time,” says Casey.
Adoption across the business and renewed internal excitement
The new report became a high-value asset across the firm’s sales, recruiting, and leadership teams. Recruiters brought it into sales conversations to strengthen credibility. Hiring teams used it to guide strategic discussions. And internally, the reaction flipped from indifference to genuine excitement. “Last year’s report landed with a thud,” says Ben, “but this year’s version stopped our internal scrolls… whoa, this is new.”
A repeatable model for high-impact thought leadership
Beyond the performance gains, the project delivered something the firm had never gotten from previous research partners: a compelling POV they can build on.
Just as importantly, the process itself felt dramatically easier than in previous years. Ben noted that these types of in-depth research projects are typically stressful, time-consuming slogs for marketing teams despite being flagship content. But because Redpoint made the process so clear and manageable, he says that, for the first time, he’s “actually looking forward to next year’s report.”
