About Neo4j

Neo4j is the graph intelligence platform that transforms data into knowledge to power the next generation of intelligent applications and AI systems. It includes enterprise-ready knowledge graphs for accurate, explainable, and governed AI; the most comprehensive, trusted, and easy-to-deploy graph capabilities across any environment and data source; and an unmatched ecosystem trusted by 84 of the Fortune 100 and supported by the world’s largest graph community. Intelligence that works. Results that matter.

Challenge

Neo4j’s content marketing team is responsible for producing high-quality, technically accurate content tailored to a sophisticated technical audience. It requires a level of depth and precision that’s difficult for most agencies to meet. Over the years, they had worked with both generalist marketing firms and highly technical agencies, but neither group delivered what they needed.

Generalist agencies “have a lot of trouble creating in-depth content because they just don’t have the background or the understanding needed for our audiences,” explained Kara Doriani O’Shee, Content Strategist at Neo4j. Yet, even technical agencies fell short. While they had the technical expertise, it didn’t always translate into the cohesive message and narrative required.

The content team needed a partner who could learn complex concepts quickly, understand the nuances of graph technology, and communicate effectively with demanding SMEs, while also crafting content that was on message, relevant, clear, and aligned to Neo4j’s audience expectations. But as Amanda Roosa, Senior Manager, Head of Content Marketing at Neo4j noted, that combination of technical comprehension and audience-savvy storytelling is “surprisingly rare to find.”

Beyond technical depth, Neo4j also needed a partner they could trust to work directly with SMEs, make sound content recommendations, and support the strategic side of their program, such as identifying the right topics, understanding audience needs, and recommending formats and channels that would perform.

Solution

Redpoint Insights partnered with Neo4j to provide the technical comprehension, narrative skill, and audience insight the team had been seeking. Redpoint quickly demonstrated the ability to learn complex topics and integrate them into clear, accurate, and educational narratives. As Kara put it, the team was “able to learn the content, learn the technical as part of a broader message and story,” a combination she noted is “really hard to do well.”

A key part of Redpoint’s approach was its audience-first orientation. Rather than simply rewriting source material, Redpoint dug into what Neo4j’s developer audience cares about—conducting research, asking targeted questions, and shaping content accordingly. Amanda described this as “almost like journalistic writing,” marked by curiosity and thoughtful inquiry into the audience’s needs.

“Based on how Redpoint approaches writing, which is very thoughtful, methodical, and organized, I could see that your team can think big picture.”

Neo4j also relied on Redpoint to work directly with their SMEs, allowing conversations to happen at the technical level without requiring constant mediation from the content team. Kara shared that she could hand over SME relationships with confidence, knowing they were “in good hands.”

As the partnership grew, Redpoint expanded into content strategy support, helping identify priority topics, suggest formats and angles, and think about how content fits into larger campaigns. Neo4j valued this blend of strategic thinking and creativity, which had been rare in their past agency relationships. “It was very clear that Redpoint was able to pull together not only the content topics, but also that you understand channel strategy,” noted Kara.

Strong project management and communication further supported the engagement. Redpoint kept initiatives organized and on track, communicated clearly, and adapted quickly to shifting priorities across Neo4j’s content programs.

Results

Redpoint’s combination of technical depth, audience insight, and strategic partnership quickly translated into meaningful improvements across Neo4j’s content operations.

Faster workflows and time saved across the team

With first drafts landing closer to the mark, Neo4j saw a noticeable reduction in SME review cycles. Amanda shared that SMEs have been “happy, especially on the first drafts,” which significantly reduced the time required to move content through internal approvals. This freed the team to focus on higher-value initiatives rather than repeated revisions.

Stronger SME relationships and greater internal trust

One of the most impactful outcomes was the confidence Neo4j gained in handing SME interactions to Redpoint. Kara noted how rare it was to be able to tell a stakeholder, “You’re in good hands,” and mean it. “It’s a lot for me to be able to say that. I have not been able to say that in the past.”

That trust eased the burden on internal content leads, especially in moments of shifting priorities, and ensured technical accuracy without bottlenecks.

High-quality content that met Neo4j’s technical and narrative standards

Redpoint delivered content that consistently met the expectations of demanding technical stakeholders while remaining accessible and relevant to developers. This quality allowed Kara to focus on broader content metrics and strategy.

“It meant a lot of saved energy for me so that I can also focus on other things. There’s no way I would be able to do that without Redpoint’s support.”

Strategic support that strengthened campaign planning and content programs

Beyond writing, Redpoint helped Neo4j think more holistically about content direction, identifying topics, recommending formats, and supporting emerging campaigns. This created a clearer, more scalable path for ongoing content development. “Redpoint does the work of conceptualizing — you are thought partners alongside us,” said Amanda.

“I was really pleased with the work that Redpoint has done. Being able to learn the content, learn the technical aspects as part of a broader message and story, and then shape that and explain it so that our audiences are educated through it. I’ve rarely seen that.”

Dependable collaboration that reduced friction and uncertainty

Neo4j has repeatedly highlighted Redpoint’s reliability and communication as a differentiator. The team felt confident that projects wouldn’t stall, details wouldn’t be missed, and stakeholder needs would be handled tactfully. “Redpoint has been good at creating the kind of accountability that’s needed without overly pressuring people, so it’s kept the projects moving,” noted Amanda.
